Lee Mokobe is an award-winning slam poet and the founder of Vocal Revolutionaries, a volunteer-run literary organization focused on empowering African youth. In 2014 and 2015, they placed second and first in the world for youth slam poetry at the Brave Voices International Slam Poetry Festival. Lee is also an LGBTQ activist specifically referencing their experience as a black transgender immigrant in South Africa and America. Lee is a teaching artist across the United States and a 2015 TED Fellow.
